How long does one set of Metallic Fuel Plates last? How long per fill of electrolyte?
Each set of metallic fuel plates contains 500Wh of power, with its lifespan depending on discharge capacity and single-use duration. At full power, one set provides approximately 30-40 hours of cumulative use (recommended single discharge ≤ 2 hours; prolonged use increases cleaning difficulty and reduces total discharge capacity due to higher internal resistance). A single electrolyte refill (400ml water + 45g salt) supports ~2 hours of operation. A steady yellow indicator light means electrolyte replacement is needed.
What is the difference between the Balance Mode and Performance Mode of the YUEDAO Portable Generator?
To ensure the stable operation of the product in high-temperature environment (45℃), it defaults to Balance Mode, which limits the maximum output power to about 12W. Double-click the control button (after the green and yellow indicator lights flash), and the product will switch to Performance Mode with a maximum power of 15W. However, operating in Performance Mode is likely to cause excessive electrolyte temperature and reduce the cumulative discharge capacity of the metallic fuel plates. To turn off Performance Mode, double-click the control button again, and it will switch off after the indicator lights flash.
Can the YUEDAO Generator be used in rain, low temps, or high temps?
Yes! This product has an IPX6 waterproof rating, which can handle rain and splashes, but please keep the USB port waterproof cover sealed and avoid exposing the device to rain during charging. Note that this product is not resistant to submersion; any accidental dropping into water, soaking, or prolonged water immersion may cause product damage—while the main charging function might not be affected temporarily, irreversible damage to the product will still occur. For low temperatures: Works normally above -20°C—use the required saltwater electrolyte (45g salt fully dissolved in 400ml water, the included measuring spoon holds approximately 45g per scoop, and the collapsible kettle holds about 400ml when filled to three-quarters capacity. No need for precise measurement) and keep the device discharging continuously. Pour out saltwater when unused to avoid internal freezing and damage. For high temperatures: Safe to use below 45°C—do not add water above 50°C as electrolyte. Simply place the device stably in a well-ventilated area during use.
Can the YUEDAO Portable Generator be charged with a solar panel?
The product has no battery and requires no charging! However, its top cover can be used independently as an expansion dock, supporting the connection of solar panels, lithium power supplies and DC chargers to the USB-C or DC5521 input ports (3-30V, 45W MAX). When used as an expansion dock, the top cover can be removed separately or installed on the main body of the product.

Are the electrolyte and flocculent precipitates produced after using the YUEDAO Portable Generator harmful, and how should they be disposed of?
The electrolyte added to the product is ordinary salt water. After use, it will produce flocculent precipitates of aluminium hydroxide (Al(OH)₃). As a common industrial product, aluminium hydroxide is non-toxic and harmless, and can be used as a flame-retardant additive and an antacid. In most countries, the mixture of salt water and aluminium hydroxide generated after using the product can be discharged as ordinary wastewater. Alternatively, you can use a filter bag or screen to filter out the aluminium hydroxide before disposal. Specific disposal methods shall be subject to local waste disposal and environmental protection regulations.
How to maintain the YUEDAO Portable Generator to extend its service life?
The following points should be noted after each use: 1) Empty the liquid in the liquid chamber and rinse it with clean water until the water poured out is clear and free of impurities; 2) Take out the unused metallic fuel plates, clean them and remove the flocculent precipitates on the surface; 3) Let them air-dry naturally after cleaning before assembling and storing. Be careful not to damage the internal black diaphragm during cleaning.
